First Blog: 11/3/13

My name is Mallory Skidmore and I am a freshman at Vail Ski and Snowboard Acadamy. In 2010, I was first introduced to Children's Global Alliance, when my big brother (Jack Skidmore) was chosen to participate in the one trip to Cambodia. From that moment on I was inspired to get involved, and the next year I tried out and was picked for one out of two trips to Cambodia. Two years ago Cambodia changed my life, and made me who I am today. This year I was chosen for the first trip to Tanzania in 2014. I will be working in the Naserian school and orphanage located in Arusha, Tanzania.  150 students call this place home, and 32 of them live in the orphanage that is attached to the school. My job is to help assist the teachers, improve living conditions and provide the materials and love that is needed to help the children. I am so very exited for this trip, and appreciate all the support from my family and friends back home.
